It’s strawberry season again! There’s no reason they should only be used in ice creams, layered parfaits or strawberry and cream. Use strawberries in your favourite Indian comfort foods to give your homemade recipes a fruity kick. Here are some examples

Raita

Prepare a classic yoghurt-based raita by mixing diced strawberries into the yogurt along with a pinch of salt, cumin powder, and chopped mint. The strawberry has a natural sweetness which goes well with the cool yoghurt

Add a fruity twist to your homemade chaat, by adding chopped strawberries to the mix. Combine diced strawberries with chopped tomatoes, green chillies, cilantro, chaat masala, and a squeeze of lemon juice for a unique flavour

Blend fresh strawberries with yoghurt, sugar, and a touch of cardamom to make a delightful strawberry lassi. Lassis are usually more watery than smoothies so make sure you blend id more than once.

Enhance the traditional rice-based kheer, by adding fresh strawberries. Cook rice in milk until it reaches a creamy consistency, and then fold in chopped strawberries along with cardamom and a touch of rose water.
