Wedding season is here again and with it comes the most important part…the food! Here are some dishes which are the true stars of every function.

Biryani

Let’s be honest, there’s no such thing as a bad biryani, and you can bet that every plate will be wiped clean before the evenings are over.

Butter Chicken

When in doubt, you can rely on this old favourite. Even if it's a creamy, slightly sweet version of the real thing, it will taste like heaven after waiting in the queue to get it.

Paneer Tikka

Perfect for people in a hurry to get back on the dance floor, these charcoal-grilled cubes of marinated cottage cheese are a grab and go treat.

Gulab Jamun

These soft, syrup-soaked dumplings are the highlight of the evening for all the kids (and the adults too). Hurry, they'll be gone before you know it.

Chaat

The social hub of the buffet line, this is where you’ll find everyone congregating for lots of gup-shup over their gol gappe and dahi puri.

Dal Makhani

If the evening’s been a bit too hectic, slow down with this slow-cooked black dal in a rich, buttery gravy for a moment of homestyle comfort.

Jalebi

It’s Jalebi, baby! These golden spirals of deep-fried batter, soaked in sugar syrup, offer a sweet, crunchy indulgence at Indian weddings.

Live Pasta Counter

If it’s an ‘Indo-Western’ vibe, we bet there will be a live pasta counter, complete with the unidentifiable ‘pink sauce pasta’.
