According to Ayurveda, balancing the Doshas during autumn season can be easily done with a few dietary changes. Here are some tips that will help you do just that to stay healthy.

Consuming Madhura (sweet), Tikta (bitter) and Laghu (easy to digest) Rasas can help pacify the Doshas during autumn.

Eating only when the hunger pangs hit and avoiding excessive eating and napping after that is essential in autumn.
Seasonal fruits like banana, apples, pears, pomegranate, tomatoes, oranges and grapefruits should be consumed.

While plenty of vegetables are seasonally available during autumn, it is important to avoid eating them raw.
Fresh harvests of wheat, rice and millets become available in autumn and should be added to your seasonal diet.
Soups, broths and teas infused with warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg should be consumed during autumn.
Healthy fats like nuts, seeds, dry fruits and ghee should be added to your seasonal autumn diet for good health.
Animal-based proteins like chicken, eggs, paneer should be added along with lentils, but beans should be avoided.
