One of the most popular Rajasthani delicacies that is a must-try in monsoon is ghevar. It is a sweet dish and boasts a web-like structure. Here are a few varieties that every person with a sweet tooth must savour.
This variety includes a rich layer of malai as garnishing. Malai has a creamy and smooth texture, and it is topped with pistachios, almonds, and other nuts.
Instead of malai, the variety of ghevar comes topped with rabri, another milk-based product. Adding nutrition to this are crushed dry fruits.
If you don’t like any topping on ghevar, relish the plain variant. It is made with flour, ghee, and sugar syrup, and tastes delicious.
Mawa ghevar includes the topping of khoya or reduced milk. It adds a soft layer to the crispy base. You can also top it with the dry fruits of your choice.
Not many Indian sweets pair well with chocolate but ghevar does. The top layer features chocolate ganache that gives a traditional dish a modern twist.
As the name suggests, almond ghevar has a generous topping of almond essence and almond slivers.
This variant of ghevar has the goodness of saffron. It flaunts a yellow hue and has a distinct aroma of saffron that makes it an enticing delight.
