Who doesn't love Parsi food? Scrambled, fried, sweet and savoury; these Parsi snacks are easy to make and will fulfill all kinds of snack-cravings on cold, rainy days.
These are deep-fried, slightly sweet doughnuts made from wheat flour, semolina, and jaggery, with a hint of cardamom. Their dense texture and mildly sweet flavour make them a comforting bite in the cool, wet weather.
The Parsi version of fried chicken, features marinated chicken pieces coated in a spiced egg batter and deep-fried until golden brown.
In Parsi style samosas, unlike the typical potato and pea filling, there is a mix of spiced minced meat (usually chicken or lamb) along with onions, coriander, and green chilies.
This is a Parsi twist on scrambled eggs, replacing eggs with crumbled paneer. Cooked with onions, tomatoes, green chilies, and a mix of spices, this dish is served with warm pav or bread.
Potato patties are stuffed with spiced minced meat (keema), coated in breadcrumbs, and fried until golden and crispy to make this delicious snack.
Mawa Cake is a rich, buttery cake made with condensed milk solids (mawa), flavoured with cardamom, and often garnished with nuts.
Chapat are sweet, pancake-like snacks made from a batter of wheat flour, jaggery, and coconut, flavoured with cardamom. They are soft and slightly chewy, perfect for tea-time.
