In Sawan, most Hindu deities pray to Lord Shiva, seek his blessings, and offer him food. Among several delightful things offered to him, milk-based food is his favourite. Here are a few dishes that you present to God.
Made with yoghurt, cardamom, sugar, and saffron, this creamy dessert can be presented to Lord Shiva and distributed among his devotees.
Instead of pouring milk down the drain, pilgrims can offer milk halwa to Lord Shiva. Prepare it with sugar, milk, ghee, and cardamom to make it nutritious.
Doodh peda is also prepared with ghee, milk, and sugar. The soft sweet is made by reducing milk to khoya and infusing it with aromatic notes.
Rabri is another milk-based delight that you can offer to God and please him. Add saffron for colour and an irresistible scent.
If you can offer milk and sugar to Lord Shiva, you can also present a bowl of kheer. If legends are any true, he would love the dessert and bless you.
Payasam is kheer prepared by cooking either rice or vermicelli in a concoction of milk and sugar. Add dry fruits and saffron to make it healthy and tasty.
