From buttery pav bhaji to crunchy bhel puri, the city of Mumbai is brimming with a rich plethora of street foods. The sights, sounds, and smells produced by these delicacies make for an enriching gastronomic spectacle.
Regarded as the Indian burger, this mouthwatering delicacy comprises a fried potato patty—“vada”—that’s inserted in a bun called “pav.”
In this dish, a deep-fried potato “pattice” is topped off with a chickpeas gravy called “ragda.”
Bite-sized puris are pumped with a concoction of chickpeas, potatoes, onions, and chillies, as well as a distinctive tamarind—“imli”—chutney to craft this specialty.
This hearty dish is made up of a succulent vegetable gravy that is relished with soft and buttered buns called pav.
This humble but tasty delicacy comprises puffed rice and sev, which are tossed with tomatoes and onions, plus multiple chutneys to craft a wonderfully tangy dish.
Loaded with a special masala of beetroots, potatoes, tomatoes, mint chutney, and cheese, this sandwich is bursting with invigorating flavours.
Commonly called “snow cone,” the gola is a frozen treat wherein shaved ice is drenched in flavoured syrup, including mango, lychee, and grape and sold on beaches.
