While kids will want to play outdoors and enjoy activities during summer vacations, you can try the following food and dietary hacks to ensure they stay safe, healthy and happy.
Remind the kids to drink plenty of water and also try Indian hydrating drinks like jal jeera and sharbats.
A good way to sneak in more water and nutrition is through fresh fruits, veggies, popsicles, smoothies, etc.
Avoid dehydrating sugary drinks like fruit juices, pre-packaged juices, sweetened energy drinks, caffeinated drinks.
Try fresh fruit sorbets, popsicles, ice cubes, kulfis and desserts like fruit custard that provide nutrition.
Avoid processed and junk foods with excess sodium and preservatives, including chips and ready-to-eat snacks.
Stick to a food and sleep schedule to maintain a nutritional balance in your kids throughout the summer vacations.
Engage the kids in creative and healthy food preparation practices like making their own popsicles, salads and smoothie bowls.
