If you cook at home, you would know that the shelf life of pudina leaves is quite small. Even if you store them in the refrigerator, they can develop black marks quite soon. Here are a few ways to store these leaves and use them in your food and beverage recipes to add a refreshing touch.
Wash mint leaves and dry them completely. Add them to a baking sheet and put them in the fridge until each leaf freezes. Store them in a ziplock bag later.
Put washed and dried pudina leaves in a vacuum seal bag and put it in the freezer. It will prevent oxidation and increase the shelf life of leaves.
Separate the leaves from the stem, make sure they are dry, and keep them in an airtight box lined with a paper towel. It will soak extra moisture and prevent oxidation.
You can either chop mint leaves or put each leaf in each container of an ice tray. Fill it with water and freeze. When you need pudina, add ice cubes to the recipe.
Wash mint leaves thoroughly and keep them dry out in an open space. Crush the leaves or store them in an airtight container.
Trim the ends of the stems of mint leaves, dip them in water, and keep them inside the fridge. Add a plastic bag on the top to prevent oxidation of leaves.
Dip paper towels in cold water and squeeze out the excess liquid. Layer pudina leaves and roll the paper towels. Keep them in an airtight container and refrigerate.
