7 Easy Steps To Make Gluten-Free Artisan Bread

Breads are a quintessential part of everyday meals and provide a good source of energy to the body. Despite that many people try to avoid it due to the gluten content which can be unpleasant to some. For the love of bread, here is a quick gluten-free bread recipe to savour it without a second thought.

Ingredients

1 ⅓ cup warm water 2 tbsp cane sugar or maple syrup 2 ¼ tsp active dry yeast 1 ½ tbsp psyllium husk powder 1 cup brown rice flour 3/4 cup potato starch 1/2 cup tapioca flour (also called tapioca starch) 1 tsp sea salt

Step 1

Coat a mixing bowl with water and dust with flour. Set it aside.

Step 2

Activate Yeast Mixture by mixing it in warm water and letting it bloom for 10-15 mins.

Step 3

Whisk psyllium husk power and let mixture gel for about 10 mins.

Step 4

Combine the wet and dry ingredients and mix thoroughly until dough forms.

Knead the dough for 3 minutes and turn it into a work-size ball.

Step 6

Place the dough in a prepared proofing bowl, cover it with a wet towel and let it rise for 30 mins.

Step 7

Boil 1 cup water. Preheat oven to 232 C. Place baking sheet filled with boiling water and put the dough on the upper rack.

Step 8

After baking for 30 minutes, reduce the heat to 218 C and bake for 25-30 minutes until the crust turns dark and crispy. Take out the bread and its ready to eat.
