One Indian dish that practically every Indian home prepares for breakfast and evening munchies is poha. Most people make poha by sautéing onions, peanuts, haldi, and spices with moistened chivda. Although this is the fundamental method for making the dish, poha is prepared in a variety of creative ways throughout India.

This Bengali-style poha is known as chirer pulao. It has lots of vegetables, including beans, cauliflower, carrots, and coriander leaves. To make this poha, first steam the vegetables. Next add sugar, salt, vegetables, peanuts, and spices. It pairs wonderfully with steaming masala chai.

This type of poha is well-known in the Nagpur area. This unique poha uses thick chivra, spices, and finely chopped onion. Chana, black chickpeas, cloves, bay leaves, jaggery, peppercorns, and other spices are used to prepare the tarri.

This dish is also called Phodni Phov Karwar Style. Due to the cashew nuts, it has a crunchy texture. Red poha, grated coconut, cashew nuts, urad dal, chana dal, lemon juice, mustard seeds, curry leaves, asafoetida, and salt are needed to make this dish.

This simple poha is prepared with onion, ginger, mustard seeds, chana dal, white urad dal, vangi bath powder, asafoetida, mustard seeds, and salt. It is frequently served with coconut chutney and garnished with coriander leaves.

Prepared with thick chivra, caramelised onions, peanuts, and green chillies, it's one of the simplest poha recipes. The basic process is to soak the poha, drain it, and then mix it to the sautéed spices. Masala chai pairs nicely with this dish.

Tamarind is one of the key ingredients in this tangy take on the traditional poha. Gojju Avalakki poha is also prepared during Maha Shivarathri. Onions, green bell peppers, tamarind paste, sambar powder, jaggery, chana dal, urad dal, and coconut, are needed to make this poha.

This Maharashtrian poha recipe resembles raita and is called Gopalkal. It's also a well-liked dish on Krishna Janmashtami. It is made with poha, pomegranate, cucumber, curd, coconut, anardana powder, raw peanuts, green chillies, cumin seeds, curry leaves, ghee, and salt.
