As the latest trend has seen people moving away from dairy, many dairy-free alternatives have emerged in the market. One of the products that have particularly seen great varieties is nut butters. These butters are essentially spreads made from grinding nuts from water to create a paste-like consistency. You may know peanut butter but there is so much more to nut butters.

The most popular nut butter where roasted peanuts are blended with oil to create a smooth paste. Cocoa powder and chocolate chips are also used to add flavour to the butter.

A delicious nut butter made from ground almonds. It is used in the same way as peanut butter. It also tends to be more expensive than peanut butter.

Known for their high omega-3 fatty acids. Walnut butter has a distinct earthly flavour which tastes amazing on its own or on toast with tea or coffee.

It has a smoother and sweeter taste than peanut butter. You can use cashew butter to thicken creams and sauces.

This variety is lower in fat and less oily in texture. Although uncommon, it is still a great nut butter to try.
