Kheer is one of the most popular desserts made in Indian homes, during festivals. The star ingredient in kheer can vary. For example ingredients such as rice, sago, vermicelli, or lentils are commonly used ingredients to make this creamy dessert. These ingredients are cooked in milk and sweetened with sugar or jaggery.

Rice Kheer

Rice kheer is a classic Indian dessert made by cooking rice in milk with sugar, cardamom, and saffron. The rice is simmered until it becomes tender and the milk thickens to a creamy consistency. 

Sabudana Kheer

Sabudana kheer is a sweet pudding made with tapioca pearls (sabudana) cooked in milk.

Rava Kheer (Semolina Kheer)

Rava kheer has  a slightly more grainy texture compared to rice kheer. It is also a slightly thicker pudding and is a popular choice for those who enjoy a rich, indulgent dessert.

Lauki Kheer
