The best part about any road trip is the tasty food from the dhabas. But it is not always possible to go on a road trip, and people might start missing those delicacies. Worry not! Here are 7 popular dishes from dhabas in North India that anybody can try at home.

Aloo Paratha

In almost every dhaba aloo paratha is the celebrity performer. This paratha is cooked in a tandoor or tawa with a spoonful of ghee. It gives the paratha a crispy outer layer and increases the taste of the spicy aloo stuffing. Serve it with chutney.

Butter Chicken

Marinate the chicken in curd and spices. Grill the chicken and add them to a creamy cashew and tomato-based gravy. The mouthwatering taste comes from the butter, fenugreek, and garam masala. Simmer and cook. Serve with jeera rice.

Paneer Tikka

Marinate the paneer in curd, spices, lemon juice, and herbs. Line them in a skewer and grill or use a tandoor until they turn golden brown and lightly charred.

Dal Makhani

This daal is prepared with black urad daal and rajma seeds. The delicious flavours of the daal come from butter, cream, tomatoes, onion, ginger, garlic, and other spices. This flavourful daal is relished with rice and salad.

Dum Aloo

Parboil baby potatoes and sautee them in a spiced tomato-onion gravy. Slow cook until it is tender. Finish it with cream and kasuri methi. Garnish with fresh coriander.

Palak Paneer

Blanch spinach and blend it into a puree. Sautee onion and tomato. Add the spinach puree, paneer, and spices. Finish it with cream and serve it hot with roti.
