Besan is a nutritious element that you can use in the kitchen to make a variety of snacks. It adds a crunchy texture and allows you to play with the recipe to suit your flavour palate. Here are some snacks you can make during tea time.
Instead of a spiced egg concoction, make batter using gram flour, and dip bread slices into it. Toast the slices until brown and crispy and pair them with tea.
Knead a small amount of spiced dough using besan. Fill it inside small wheat dough balls, roll it into thin papdi, and deep fry them. You can have papdi chaat at your convenience.
Prepare a thick flavour dough using gram flour and press it through a sev-making machine. Deep fry these in hot oil, and you can enjoy them every day.
Dhokla is a lightweight Gujarati snack that you can have during tea time. It won’t kill your appetite but will definitely help to curb your cravings.
Another snack that you can make using besan is chakli. The spiral-shaped crispy snack dough is made by mixing gram flour, ajwain, red chilli powder, and salt to taste.
Ask any Indian and they will tell you that pakoras and tea are a deadly combo. In a spice concoction of besan and water, add potato or onion slices and deep-fry them.
Mix besan with water and add salt to taste, chopped onion and tomato, green chillies, and red chilli powder. Spread the batter on a hot skillet and cook until the base is crispy.
