Wild rice, often called Canadian rice, water oats, or Indian rice, is considered high in protein and dietary fibre. It also has a low amount of fat and no gluten. Here are a few dishes that you can make at home using wild rice and add them to your weight loss diet.
For a lightweight supper, you can make wild rice soup along with chicken or your choice of meat. You can also cook it with preferred vegetables.
Wild rice salad is a must-try if you prefer a plant-based diet and looking for new recipes. Garnish it with toasted almonds and enjoy.
Instead of using your regular rice, you can use seasoned wild rice filling to stuff bell peppers. Top them with cheese or paneer and cook nicely.
You can use wild rice and black beans to prepare spiced and crispy burger patties. Layer the patties with vegetables, cheese, and mayonnaise to enjoy.
Saute cooked wild rice with seasoned mushrooms to make pilaf. Add garlic, fresh parsley, and paprika powder to make the dish wholesome.
If you saute wild rice with grapes, pecans, apples, and beets, you can make a batch of delicious sweet wild rice salad.
