Whether paired with simple aloo-bhujiya or spicy chole, crispy and fluffy puris are always great treat for every special occasion. Here are six tips to make it perfectly at home.
Ensure that the wheat flour used for making the puris are well-sifted. This will give you crispy puris.
Adding a pinch of salt and a little oil to the flour while kneading the dough will result in tasty puris.
Avoid adding too much water and aim for a stiff and tight dough that's smooth and elastic.
Oil temperature is crucial when it comes to frying puris in oil. For the best result, use sunflower or rice bran oil.
Once all the puris are fried, increase the heat again and briefly fry each poori a second time until golden brown.
For the perfect golden-brown colour, add half a teaspoon of sugar to your dough.
