White rice is generally believed to be the devil's advocate in any kitchen. It's heavily rich in carbohydrates and is generally not preferred when you are counting calories and watching your weight. But being a classic household additive, rice is often added to every dish. It can actually improve metabolism and help in boosting nutritional levels. Discard the high carbohydrate content of rice by cooking them in a healthier way. You can soak rice for a few hours, boil it and discard the water. Avoid frying rice or adding too much fats like ghee or oil that will add on to the calories.
