Streets-side matar chaat is everyone’s favourite because it’s healthy and bursting with tangy, sweet, and spicy notes. Prepared fresh in North and West India, the snack is the ultimate solution to your evening cravings.
2 cups water 1 cup white peas 1 tsp cumin, salt 2 chopped tomatoes 2 chopped green chillies 1 chopped potato A pinch of hing 1 tbsp oil, lemon juice 1 chopped onion ½ tsp turmeric, garam masala 1 tbsp coriander leaves 1 tsp red chilli powder 1 tsp ginger-garlic
Soak white peas overnight and boil them in the pressure cooker.
Chop onions, tomatoes, green chillies, coriander leaves, ginger, garlic, and potatoes.
Roast spices in hot oil and pour matar and veggies on them.
Cook the ingredients together for 5-8 minutes and turn off the flame.
Add lemon juice and stir the matar chaat.
Serve the chaat with a garnish of coriander leaves.
