Salad is the quintessential food for weight loss. It is made from a variety of veggies and ingredients and is a healthy source of essential nutrients. But to make your salads tastier, people often add certain ingredients that aren't conventionally incorporated in salads. So, if you decide to add salads to your diet then make sure not to include these ingredients.

Adding Fried Protein

Make sure you don't add fried chicken, shrimp, or tofu as they can easily add up calories. Instead, opt for boiled or grilled chicken or raw tofu.

Adding The Dressing Too Early

Make sure you don't add the dressing too early as it would make the veggies soggy and unappetizing.

Dried Fruits

Although they are healthy but when it comes to weight loss, dried fruits may not be the best option as apricots, raisins, and more are high in sugar.

Croutons

Adding croutons to your salad can instantly increase your calorie intake. Instead, add some spiced walnuts in limited quantity.

Fried Noodles

Another common ingredient used for crunch but it is nutrient-less and spikes the calorie count of your salad.

Heavy Salad Dressings

Avoid adding heavy dressings made using mayonnaise, cream, and sugar. Instead, drizzle some extra virgin olive oil or lemon for flavour.
