Rock salt, or sendha namak, is a common ingredient in many Navratri preparations. If you compare it to ordinary salt, though, you'll see that it offers several advantages. When saltwater from lakes, oceans, or seas evaporates, it leaves behind a pinkish crystal of sodium chloride, which is known as sendha namak. Sendha namak is highly considered for its benefits. Take a look at some of them:

Due to its low sodium content than normal salt, sendha namak may help regulate sodium content in the body. Lack and excess of sodium are both harmful to the body.

Rock salt can be an alternative to chemical laxatives to reduce digestion issues. It can also be beneficial in soothing heartburn, removing gas, and improving appetite.
