South Indian meal is considered incomplete without a hot bowl of sambar. Here are five tips to make your sambar more delicious.
Asafoetida gives the dish a distinct aroma & flavour, but adding chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric powder along with it in equal amounts makes sambar more delicious.
Along with curry leaves add some chopped coriander leaves after turning off the heat for better result.
If possible, make the sambar powder at home instead of purchasing it from market.
Selection of toor dal is important, always choose the smaller and flat ones that comes without polish for better taste.
Always use new tamarind for making sambar instead of old one, as the old tamarind looks darker and sticky.
