5 Substitutes For Eggs While Baking

Baking cake without eggs is a task. Eggs help give cake a structure, adding moisture etc. Here are some good substitutes to try 

Vinegar And Baking Soda

This combination works magic to give your cakes volume. Mix 1 tsp baking soda with 1 tbsp of vinegar together in a separate bowl to replace an egg.  

Plain Yogurt

Yogurt is also a good source of protein to bind the cake. Make sure your yogurt is plain and not sweetened.

Tofu

Not only does it offer the required protein, it also has a subtle taste that does not tamper with the overall flavour of the cake. 

Ripe Banana

A mashed ripe banana is a good vegan substitute for eggs too, if you are a fan of banana’s flavour.  

Flaxseeds

Another superfood, another great source of protein. Crushed flaxseeds in place of eggs can also yield great cakes. Try it.
