Salt is an essential kitchen ingredient that has a fundamental role of seasoning. But surprisingly, there are other kitchen tasks as well which salt can do efficiently.
Add a pinch of salt in water and put the eggs in it, a fresh egg sinks while the older egg will float.
Cover the spillage or stain with salt and continue cooking, it will easily come off after the oven returns to room temperature.
If you have spilled wine on your dress, just pour some salt over it. This will absorb the wine out of the fabric.

Pour salt into cast-iron pans, make it into a paste by adding a bit of water, and scrub to clean. This paste will also remove the rust.
