Removing a coconut from its shell can seem daunting, but these five easy methods make it a breeze. Here's how you can do it efficiently at home.
Place the whole coconut in the oven at 180°C for 15 minutes. The heat will cause the shell to crack, making it easier to remove.
Freeze the coconut for a few hours. The cold will cause the meat to contract, loosening it from the shell.
Use a hammer to gently tap the coconut around its circumference, then pry the shell apart.
After draining the water, use a sturdy knife to insert into the "eyes" and split the shell open.
Boil the coconut for 10-15 minutes, which helps soften the shell, making it easier to crack and remove the meat.
