To maintain optimal taste and texture, it is advisable to refrain from cooking certain foods in cast iron pans. Using these ingredients might affect the seasoning of the pan and change how the food cooks.

Eggs are quite delicate, which means they have a tendency to stick to the pan and can potentially affect the seasoning.
Highly acidic foods, such as tomatoes, should be avoided when cooking because they can dissolve the flavour and negatively impact the meal and the pan.
High-sugar foods, such as caramelised sauces, can leave a sticky residue on the pan's surface that is difficult to remove.
Fish fillets that are delicate can easily stick to the surface of cast iron pans, which can result in uneven cooking.
If acidic or highly seasoned dishes are stored in cast iron for a long time, it can potentially impact the overall quality of the pan. Consider using different types of containers for storing your food.
