We all love eating mangoes during summer, they are not only delicious but also provides multiple nutrients to our body. But do you know the right way of storing them? Don’t worry, here are five effective tips that can help you.
Store unripe mangoes at room temperature to allow them to ripen.
Storing the unripe mangoes in plastic bags or jar with airflow helps to keep them safe from pests.
The ripe mangoes can be stored in the fridge up to five days. But never store the unripe ones in the fridge as doing so stops the ripening process.
Overripe mangoes start showing symptoms of rot like mushy, black skin and sour smell. If the discolouration is in the inside, throw them but if they only have little spots, it can be used in the smoothies.
If you want to store the mangoes for off-season, cut them into bite size and seal in a Ziploc bag before freezing. It will stay good up to five months.
