5 Easy Tips To  Soften Refrigerated Paneer

By Aanchal Mathur

Refrigerating paneer for a long time can sometimes result in a hard and rubbery texture. Fret not, you can soften it with a few simple tricks.

Keep it covered

Never leave your paneer open in the fridge or it might rip off all the moisture. Ensure that paneer is covered and stored in an airtight container.

Cooking at room temperature

Letting the paneer rest outside for at least 25-20 minutes prior to cooking allows the paneer to come to room temperature, and soften up by itself.

Steaming

Boil some water, put a strainer over it and spread paneer cubes. Put a lid on top for the steam to not escape. You’ll have super soft and spongy paneer cubes.

Immerse it in warm water

Simply cut the paneer slab into cubes and dip them in a bowl of warm water for no more than 5 minutes. This will help soften your paneer

Add it only in the end when cooking

If you want your paneer remains soft while cooking, never add it to your dish in the beginning, as it will overcook the paneer and make it rubbery.
