You give it a fancy name, and even the simplest cocktail becomes all the more appealing. Here are some that have been named after famous celebrities.
The enigmatic Hollywood actress also has a cocktail named after her. The actress loved her champagne, and this drink is a champagne-based drink made with apple brandy and grenadine. The cocktail is traditionally served in a champagne flute or coupe glass.
American diplomat, actress and singer, Shirley Temple started her career at three. A bartender made a non-alcoholic drink for little Shirley, with ginger ale and a splash of grenadine, garnished with a maraschino cherry. The alcoholic version created later comprised vodka.
Charlie Chaplin is counted as one of the greatest entertainers of 20th century. This drink can be traced back to the Waldorf-Astoria in New York in the early 20th century. Sloe gin, lime juice and apricot brandy give the cocktail a sweet, citrusy flavour.
The Academy Award winning actor Ginger Rogers was the inspiration behind this heady cocktail made with gin, ginger ale, fresh lemon juice and mint leaves, first made during the Prohibition Era.
