Beetroot Poori is a vibrant and nutritious Indian bread made with beetroot puree. It's perfect for fussy eaters and adds a colourful twist to any meal.
2 cups wheat flour 2 tsp rava/sooji Salt: as required Water: as required 1 cup beetroot 2 tsp Oil
Wash, peel, and chop the beetroot roughly, then pressure cook with a little water.
Cook the beetroot for 3-4 whistles, then cool and blend into a smooth puree.
Mix wheat flour, rava, and salt in a bowl, then add beetroot puree.
Gradually add water to form a dough, then knead with oil for 8-10 minutes.
Let the dough rest, then form small balls and flatten them into round discs.
Heat oil in a pan, then fry the discs, pressing gently to puff them up.
Turn and cook for a few seconds on each side, then remove and serve.
