According to Ayurveda, one should eat only when hungry. Besides, the ancient Indian medical science also states that every food has a specific time during which they should be consumed to attain maximum benefit. Take a look at the foods that one should avoid on an empty stomach:
Eating cucumber on an empty stomach may cause flatulence and stomach pain.
They are rich in potassium and fibre and are highly acidic. When consumed on an empty stomach, it may give rise to digestive problems.
Thy are highly acidic in nature and eating them on empty stomach might aggravate the lower oesophagus.
According to Ayurvada, eating apple on empty stomach makes you feel bloated and constipated.
It is rich in tannic acid which when consumed on empty stomach may raise acidity and reflux levels.
Although it contains good bacteria, consuming on an empty stomach might be bad as the lactic bacteria when mixed with stomach acids, may cause acute pain.
Avoid all foods that have higher spice level on empty stomach. These can cause stomach irritation and cramps.
They are rich in fibre and when consumed on an empty stomach may result in stomach aches.
They might hard the respiratory passages and reduce the blood flow to the stomach, leading to constipation.
It is rich in fibre and difficult for the digestive system to break it down on an empty stomach which may result in acute pain.
