  • 1/4 Onion, Finely Chopped
  • 1/4 Tomato, Finely Chopped
  • 1/4 Carrot, Diced

  • 0.13 teaspoon Cumin Seeds
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ginger, Grated
  • 1/2 cloves Cloves Garlic, Minced
  • 0.13 teaspoon Turmeric Powder
  • As required Salt To Taste
  • 3/4 cup Water
  • 1/2 tablespoon Oil

Cooking Directions

  • STEP 1.Wash and soak rice and lentils for 30 minutes.
  • STEP 2.Heat oil in a pressure cooker and add cumin seeds, ginger, and garlic.
  • STEP 3.Add chopped vegetables, turmeric powder, and salt. Saute for a few minutes.
  • STEP 4.Drain the soaked rice and lentils and add them to the pressure cooker.
  • STEP 5.Add water and pressure cook for 3-4 whistles.
  • STEP 6.Once the pressure is released, open the cooker and fluff the khichdi with a fork.
  • STEP 7.Serve hot with yogurt or pickle.
