Ingredients for Catfish Stew Recipe

  • 2 pound Catfish
  • 3 Nos red bell peppers
  • 4 Nos roma tomatoes
  • 2 Nos onions
  • 1 Nos habanero pepper
  • 3 Nos garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger
  • 2 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Thyme
  • 2 teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 teaspoon bouillon powder
  • 1 tablespoon Paprika
  • As required Salt
  • As required Peppe
  • 1 cup Chicken Broth
  • 2 stalks green onions

step 1

  • STEP 1.Wash tomatoes, onions and bell peppers. Peel off garlic cloves

step 2

  • STEP 1.Chop tomatoes,1 onion and bell peppers for blending. Blend tomatoes ,bell peppers ,onion and garlic cloves.

  • STEP 1.Once blend, pour out the paste in a bowl and keep it aside . Wash and clean catfish.

step 4

  • STEP 1. Add oil in a pan & heat it. Now add 1 chopped onion in the pot and saute it at medium heat.

  • STEP 1. Add thyme, ginger and tomato paste and cook it for about 3 mins. Add the blend ingredients and bring it to a boil with the lid on.

  • STEP 1. In a pot add water and bring it to a boil, then add catfish and cook it for 3-4 mins. Now rinse the catfish under the running water and keep it aside.

step 7

  • STEP 1. Then add some salt, curry powder ,black pepper ,paprika and some seasoning powder into the stew. Add chicken broth and stir the gravy.

step 8

  • STEP 1. Lastly ,add the catfish gently into the stew and stir it lightly without breaking the catfish. Now cover it with the lid and cook it for 7-8 mins.
