Directions : Nian Gao Recipe

STEP 1.Add long glutinous rice and rice into a pot.

STEP 2.After washing the mixed rice in the pot, pour the appropriate amount of water, so that the surface of the rice is 3cm under the water level, soak it for one night. pour a small amount of rice and water at a time into a food processor, and repeatedly grind it into fine rice pulp.pour the rice slurry into the bag.

STEP 3.After all the rice pulp has been added, the mouth of the bag is twisted shut, and then a bowl or other heavy object is pressed against the surface of the bag containing the rice slurry to press out the moisture.after the rice is pressed of all its moisture, it is removed from the bag and put into a pot.

STEP 4.Add 500g brown sugar. By hand, mix it all together. mix until the brown sugar and rice are evenly combined. cross the washed bamboo leaves at the bottom of the mold.

STEP 5.Add the right amount of rice into it.

STEP 6.Cut the leaves around the edge of the mold.

STEP 7.Wash the red dates and peanuts, and put the peanuts and red dates on the surface of the raw cake. Put a proper amount of water in the steamer and put the mold containing the rice cake into the steam.on high heat, steam for 2 hoursafter the rice cake is steamed, let it cool and release it from the mold.

STEP 8.Cut the rice cake into four squares, apply a thin layer of sweet potato. pour a small amount of cooking oil into. Add rice cake.

STEP 9.Space the rice cakes out onto the pan.fry one side until golden and flip. After the cake is golden on both sides, take the rice cake and place onto a dish.
