• 175 gram Dates or prunes
• 60 gram Almonds
• 225 gram Raisins
• 225 gram Sultanas

• 225 gram Suet
• 225 gram Soft brown sugar
• 225 gram Self raising flour
• 0.5 teaspoon Baking powder
• 0.5 teaspoon Ground nutmeg
• 1 teaspoon Mixed spice
• 0.25 teaspoon Ground ginger
• 0.25 teaspoon Cinnamon
• pinch Pinch salt
• 3 Large eggs
• 0.5 Grated rind and juice large lemon
• 1.5 tablespoon Brandy
• 1.5 tablespoon Sherry
• 0.25 pint Strong dark ale e. g. guinness + extra if needed
• Lard, for greasing
