It’s a known fact that rice happens to be staple for most in our country. From end to end of the country, we see various rice preparations be is sweet, tangy, spicy and more. Of all the rice preparations that we see the South of India sees many interesting ones, one of them being the Bisibele Bath, which happens to be a spicy, rice-based dish from the state of Karnataka.

This dish that supposedly saw it’s origin around 300 years ago in Mysore Palace. Loaded with cashew nuts, tamarind, dried coconut, and more, then Bisibele bath saw no vegetables as the royals had their of their sides when it came to vegetables. Slowly this dish made its way to udipi eateries and slowly vegetables started to be added. This veggie loaded dish became a hearty meal mostly eaten during morning and it served as a bellyful for those working through the day.
