When it comes to elegant dining, sushi restaurants are the first places that make the cut. The pace at which this dish is becoming popular globally remains unprecedented. Even India has seen a steep rise in the bloom of Japanese dining outlets. There are more than 100 restaurants solely dedicated to Japanese cuisine all over the country. While you can always find the best sushi restaurant to order from while on a tight budget, there are eateries in various parts of the world, where eating a plate of sushi would cost you more than buying an iPhone! Some chefs have gone to the extent of creating thousand-dollar worth sushis and breaking world records. Let’s take a look at some of the costliest sushis, all over the world.

This sushi was made by starting with a relatively simple ingredient - premium pink salmon and foie gras. It was then wrapped in an edible gold wrap using a 24 karat gold leaf. The sushi was then decorated with Palawan pearls and adorned with 20 carats of African diamond. This novelty became the most expensive sushi in the world.
