Indians and street food have a connection that surpasses all. We love our street food like nothing else and there's no denying it. Be it chaats or momos to juicy rolls or tikkas or sambhar-dosa, the list just doesn't end the variety is all unique and delicious. The passion for food is unbelievable and runs so deep that a lot of foodies enjoy eating competitively as well! Haven’t you seen many foodies having a gol gappa eating competition? Or the ones about the spiciest dish. While most of us are used to the informal contests, certain street vendors have decided to take this up a notch, by offering big cash prizes. For instance, we just found one such food challenge right in the capital city. A Delhi-based street food vendor is challenging its customers to eat 21 plates of chole kulche and win a Rs 50,000/- cash prize! Yes, you read that right.
The catch here is to finish those 21 plates of chole kulche in just 30 minutes. Up to two people can do this challenge together and if you can achieve this goal, then the vendor shall reward you with Rs 50,000/- in cash. But if you are not able to complete the challenge, you'll have to pay Rs 2,100 instead. In a video shared by food blogger @FoodyVishal on his YouTube channel, the blogger takes us through a street food vendor called Hari Om Chole Kulche in Mayur Vihar, Delhi, where this challenge is being organized. Two men are already up for the challenge and while they are at it, the vendor shows us how he prepares the drool-worthy chole. Bathed in a variety of spices and herbs- from anar dane ki chutney, ghotala masala, tadka chutney to kaju and badam, the chole has it all and boasts of a unique and chatpata taste. Even the tadka for chole is made with a host of ingredients including paneer, onion, tomato, ghotala masala, and so much more. Take a look at the video:
Just looking at how the chole is made got me drooling already. No wonder the video garnered over 299k views with several comments. While winning money to just eat chole kulche indeed is an enticing offer, finishing 21 plates in 30 minutes seems like a big challenge. The people who were up for the challenge also could not finish. Do you think you can finish this challenge? Let us know.
