Every year on February 24, people all around the world celebrate World Bartender Day. Bartenders play a crucial role in the hospitality sector. A pub, tavern, or nightclub today would not be the same without a bartender. They make sure that customers are well-satisfied with their drinks, especially the alcoholic variety, and they keep the bar busy.

You are more likely to seek assistance from a bartender if you are unsure about which drink to order or want to try something new. Who knows, maybe you'll discover your new favourite beverage this way! Don't forget to thank the bartender the next time you and your buddies have a good day out.

The first bartending position was likely held in the 1400s, despite the fact that it may seem like a more contemporary occupation. It is believed to have first appeared many thousand years ago in a number of places, including Asia, Greece, and Rome. Bartenders at the time would have been innkeepers and alehouse proprietors who made their own brews and liquors to offer the customers.

The general public didn't start to have a reasonably positive view of bartending until the 1800s, at which point they stopped passing moral and ethical judgement on bartenders. Jerry Thomas, known as the "father of bartending," rose to fame at this time for the unique cocktails he made in his bars in New York City.

This day is a reminder of the contribution made by bartenders in our lives, their passion for their work and our pleasure when they make us something delicious.

On this occasion, RCB Bar and Café celebrates the bartenders who are always looking to create special and unique drinks to satisfy one’s alcoholic palate. RCB’s bartenders and mixologists are shaping cocktail culture by experimenting with classic cocktails and adding their signature twists to drinks. The bar menu at RCB Bar & Cafe offers up a curation of drinks that focus on local and indigenous ingredients. From the Curry Leaf Negroni to the Madikeri Mudslide, these cocktails use the best that the city has to offer, with homegrown ingredients like cinnamon, curry leaf and coffee being prominent flavour profiles.
