Fish are excellent for heart, bone, and brain health since they are full of protein, healthy fats, calcium, selenium, vitamin B12, and calcium. There is no doubt that including fish in your diet on a regular basis will significantly improve your health. We frequently think of seafood as an excellent source of protein for our bodies. Monsoon is the breeding season for aquatics 

The monsoon is the time of year when fish and other marine life reproduce. These aquatic organisms typically have eggs inside of them. Humans shouldn't swallow these eggs directly because they are not very healthy. Additionally, it may result in food poisoning or a gastrointestinal infection. So don't eat them.

Monsoon leads to water contamination 

During the monsoon, there is more water pollution. When sea life reproduces in polluted water, it becomes contaminated. Consuming seafood during the monsoon season thereby raises our chance of contracting water-borne illnesses such diarrhoea, jaundice, and typhoid. 

Monsoon may cause decomposition 

It's likely that most fish and other marine life rely on sewage and murky water to survive during the monsoon. As a result, the majority of the water and sewage in their body is contaminated. Long-term exposure to the contaminated water in their lung area could cause their body to decompose. 

Packaged foods for sale

Most of the seafood put on the market during the monsoon is pre-packaged and kept. Consuming any type of seafood during this time may not be good for your health because decomposition occurs because of the dirty water while storage for longer than 10 days in frozen form. 

Preservative foods 

Preservatives and sprays containing various hazardous ingredients are used to extend the lifespan of fish. Fish are therefore maintained in frozen forms because the freshness has been lost. Because of this, eating fish during the monsoon is generally not a wise decision. 

You'd be happy to learn that the Indian government has banned fishing off the Eastern and Western shores of the nation for at least 61 days during monsoon in order to preserve the ecosystem and prevent fish spawning. However, it is still possible to find canned fish and fish with additional preservatives during this season. But, the quality of the fish may vary due to biological changes brought on by breeding, and the addition of preservatives may worsen the quality. Seafood consumption is hence discouraged during the monsoon season.
