Tiramisu in a Jar

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup strong brewed coffee, cooled
  • 3 tbsp coffee liqueur (optional)
  • 3 large egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese, softened
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 24 to 30 ladyfinger biscuits
  • Cocoa powder, for dusting

Method:

  • Brew a cup of strong coffee and let it cool. If desired, mix in coffee liqueur for an extra kick.
  • In a mixing bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until pale and creamy. Add the softened mascarpone cheese and blend until smooth.
  • In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Gently fold the whipped cream into the mascarpone mixture until well combined.
  • Dip each ladyfinger briefly into the brewed coffee mixture. Ensure they are soaked but not overly soggy.
  • In serving jars, create layers by placing a few dipped ladyfingers at the bottom. Add a generous layer of the mascarpone mixture on top. Repeat the process, creating multiple layers until the jar is almost full.
  • Refrigerate the jars for at least 4 hours or overnight. This allows the flavors to meld and the dessert to set.
  • Before serving, dust the top of each jar with cocoa powder using a fine sieve or sifter.
  • Tiramisu in a jar is ready to be served. Enjoy the individual portions of this classic Italian dessert, perfect for special occasions or a delightful indulgence.
