A popular face of Indian television who is well-known for her character in Naagin, Mouni Roy has been the talk of the town for quite a while now. Apart from her gorgeous looks and groovy dance moves, it is her travel diaries that are making us envious. Post her marriage with Suraj Nambiar, the actress was seen honeymooning in the snowcapped Kashmir valley. Her bowl of pahadi maggi transported us to the hills immediately. Next, we saw her in Sri Lanka, grabbing a bite from her Italian fare on her workation. Given the foodie that she is, the newly-wed actress is giving us cooking goals now.
Recently, she took to her Instagram to share a glimpses of her return to Dubai and reunion with her husband and friends in the country. Amidst fun-filled and radiant pictures and videos, we spotted a boomerang of something being cooked in her kitchen. Seems like Mouni Roy has taken over the role of an ideal bahu by cooking at her new Dubai home. Here, take a look.
Although we aren’t sure of what she’s planning to cook, it seems lots of chopped onions and garlic being tossed in pan full of oil. It could be an Indian curry or a subzi that she might be cooking or something along those lines. Do you know what it is? While we are figuring out her latest cooking attempt, let’s indulge in some delicious onion-based curries from the Indian palate.
1. Egg Onion Curry
Do you like eggs for breakfast, lunch and dinner? This egg curry recipe is a must try then. A thick tomato and onion-based curry is prepared and then boiled eggs are added to it at the end. You can shallow-fry the eggs too before adding them in the curry. Serve with jeera rice.
2. Eggplant Onion Curry
You must have had a lot of baigan ka bharta but how about a baigan ki curry? This gravy-dish makes use of loads of onions that are mashed and make into a curry. Eggplant or baigan is chargrilled and the mashed pulp is added to it. All this is mixed together and finally, what you get is a delicious curry.
3. Goan Onion Curry
A lesser-known local preparation, the Goan curry is made from sliced onions, grated coconut and Sichuan peppers. To add a coastal touch to it, kokum is mixed for a tangy flavour. This curry is usually relished with steamed rice and a side of fried fish.
