Summer is here, and to meet your hydration needs, you must eat fruits the right way this season. In summer, the demand for fruits like watermelon, mango, melon increases, but often people find it difficult to cut and store them. At the same time, many people complain that these fruits get spoiled even after being kept properly. So, let us tell you what you need to do to keep fruits fresh at home for a longer time.

Watermelon

  • Do not store sliced watermelon at room temperature. Make sure there is no direct sunlight. Store in a shady place only to keep watermelons for six days.

  • If you have cut the watermelon in half, wrap it in plastic and store it in the fridge. Covering will prevent the smell of the other food from going into the watermelon. The fruit can be stored in this way for up to two days. After that, you can peel it, cut it into cubes, and store it in a container. The box should be airtight and kept in the fridge. Consume it immediately after taking it out of the refrigerator. Again, watermelons can be stored in this way for up to two days.

Melon

  • The method for storing melon is very similar to watermelon, but they cannot be kept for long at room temperature because of their thin shell.

  • You can store natural melon at room temperature, but only until ripe. Once it is cooked, do not keep it at room temperature or else it will get worms, and at the same time, it will spoil very quickly.
  • Keep it covered if your melon is sliced. It would be perfect for covering with plastic wrap or foil. However, if your melon is cut into cubes, you keep it in an airtight container and store it in the fridge. Again, this would be the right way.

Raw And Ripe Mangoes

  • The right way to store raw mangoes can be to put them in a basket with proper airflow. Mangoes get spoiled by blocking oxygen, so there's no need to keep it in the fridge.

  • You can also keep ripe mangoes at room temperature, but they will not last more than two days. So, keep them directly in the basket in the fridge. That's because their scent will be too strong to affect the rest of the food. If you don't want to keep it in a basket, keep it in a paper bag. It will last easily for six days.

With these methods, you can store your summer fruits the right way.
