Coconut water is said to be an ideal drink for the season. The drink is low in calories and sugar, keeping you hydrated for longer hours as compared to the processed, aerated drinks. It is also believed that drinking coconut water once or twice a day helps to improve skin quality. Exposure to direct heat adversely impacts the skin and the antioxidants present in coconut water lead to a healthier skin.

This summer, let’s get you to whip some delicious and refreshing desi summer coolers that will lighten up your mood and day.

1.  Jaljeera

A breezy drink with an easy recipe, jaljeera is an Indian solution to beat the heat. Made with tamarind and ginger, the drink is flavoured with coriander and pudina leaves. Add some red chilli powder and garam masala for the kick and pop in the ice cubes after mixing everything in water.

2.  Mint Chaas

Chaas aka buttermilk is the refreshing drink that you’ve been looking for all this while. The fresh curd is mixed in water and churned with some crushed mint leaves. This gives the drink a greenish hue. You can add black salt and cumin seeds powder to spice up the flavours.

3.  Aam Panna

Do you love mangoes? Ditch the mango shake and make some aam panna at home now. Raw mangoes lend the drink a tangy flavour while the grated jaggery sweetens up the taste.
