Oil stains make cleaning the jars of pickles, spices, sugar, etc., complicated. Sometimes, a thick layer of oil accumulates on pulses and tea leaves boxes, making them look dirty. Even after washing them several times, the stickiness of the oil does not go away. Baking soda and water
If any box in the kitchen has oil stains or is sticky, you can use both hot water and baking soda to clean it. For this:
- First, take out the contents from the box.
- Next, heat water, add one teaspoon of baking soda and mix it in a vessel.
- Put the box in this mixture and leave it for half an hour.
- Finally, clean it with a brush as this will quickly remove the oily stains from the box.

Lemon juice
You can use vinegar and lemon juice to remove oil stains from plastic containers of pickles, spices, tea leaves, sugar, etc. For this:
- Mix three teaspoons of lemon juice, two teaspoons of vinegar in about two litres of water in a vessel.
- Put all the boxes in this mixture and leave it for an hour.
- After an hour, clean it with a brush, removing both the stain and the smell.
Hydrogen peroxide
Hydrogen peroxide is also one of the best home remedies to remove oily stains from plastic boxes. For this:
- Mix two-three spoons of peroxide liquid in one to two litres of water.
- Put the plastic container in this mixture and leave it for some time.
- Then, clean it with the help of a brush.
- Don’t forget to clean the lid in the mix as well.
Apart from this, you can also remove oil stains or stickiness from plastic containers with the help of toothpaste and nail paint remover. After cleaning the box, keep it in the sun for half an hour. This will remove the moisture and the smell. Do not forget to wear gloves while cleaning if you have skin problems.
