Carrot cake, confused much? Although the smoothie wouldn’t actually have cake in it, it will definitely give you all the right flavours of a carrot cake that you’ve been avoiding for some time. The nutty and creamy drink is full of nutrition and a healthy post-workout snack that can be prepared in minutes. Mixed with the carrot cake spices and other ingredients, here’s how you can make carrot cake smoothie at home.
Carrot Cake Smoothie
Ingredients
- Carrot - 1 small chopped
- Pineapple - 1/2 Cup frozen chopped
- Banana - 1/2 frozen
- Oats - 1/4th cup
- Maple syrup/Honey - 1 tsp
- Coconut Milk - 3/4th Cup
- Cinnamon - 1/4th tsp(a pinch)
- Nutmeg- 1/4th tsp (a pinch)
- Greek Yogurt /Thick curd - 1/3rd cup
- Peanut Butter - 1 tbsp
Method
- Take a blender and add some grated carrots to it.
- Next, add some frozen chopped pineapples and bananas.
- Soak some oats in water overnight and add them to this smoothie too.
- Pour in generous amounts of coconut milk and thick yoghurt. You can use Greek yoghurt if you like as it gives the drink a smooth texture.
- Next up, sweeten the smoothie with a drizzle of maple syrup or honey.
- Finally, add some peanut butter for nuttiness and creaminess.
- Throw in a pinch of cinnamon and nutmeg for the tantalizing aroma and flavour.
- Blend all of this together till it forms a smooth paste.
- Pour it in your smoothie glass and garnish with chopped nuts like almonds.
- You can also top it with some grated carrots and enjoy this bright-coloured summer smoothie.
