How many times have you ordered lunch from a food delivery app and been kept waiting for more than 10 minutes for your food to arrive? Umpteen. Well, we aren’t surprised because an elaborate dish like chicken biryani or navratan korma can’t be tossed up in a few minutes right? They require several steps of preparation and a longer cooking time. Imagine you’ve ordered for lunch at office and the food arrives way past your lunch time. Either you can sulk because you’ll have to eat a cold bowl of fried rice later or you can skip work (which is rarely an option).
In such a scenario, an instant delivery would be a game-changer right? Recently, Zomato, a popular food delivery service shared the news of its upcoming initiative called Zomato Instant. The purpose of this new concept is to deliver orders within 10 minutes to the given location. The logistics, kinds of dishes that can be ordered, speed of food delivery personnel etc. have been brought into question after this move. Said to be launched in Gurugram from April, the CEO of Zomato, Deepinder Goyal, took to his twitter handle to share the news. Here’s what he said in his tweet.
Well, we don’t know whether your food would be delivered hot or cold, fresh or stale or even within 10 minutes at all. But what we do know is some lunch recipes that would need only 10 minutes of your time so that you can enjoy a fresh, homemade lunch at work every day. Here you go.
1. Paneer Bhurji
Paneer aka cottage cheese is one of the easiest things if you are looking for a protein-based lunch recipe. The mashed chunks of paneer and toss in a pre-prepared masala of salt, jeera, turmeric, red chilli powder, chopped onions, tomatoes and some coriander leaves for garnish.
2. Jeera Aloo
Potatoes come to your rescue when you don’t have much time. This jeera aloo recipe is just amazing and takes 10-15 minutes to prepare. You just need to dice boiled potatoes. Toss jeera in a pan of oil. Add some red chilli powder, salt and turmeric. Cook for a few seconds and it is ready.
3. Curd Rice
This is a delectable south indian rice preparation. The creamy and smooth curd rice combination is a refreshing treat in summers. The yoghurt is mixed with boiled rice with a garnish of green chillies and coriander leaves. Add a dash of salt and you are done.
4. Bread Upma
This can become your all-time favourite recipe. Perfect for breakfast, lunch or dinner, this will keep you full and satisfied. The crunchy bread bites are crushed and ground in a blender. The masala of curry leaves, mustard seeds and spices is prepared and the bread crumbs are added to it. The upma can be your go-to dish for lunch.
