Shared on Instagram by food blogger and creator Jake Cohen, the recipe has a hack wherein he uses roasted garlic which is prepared in the oven to make it super soft and easy to use. But there’s more to it than just that, something that makes this viral recipe so different and unique. The key to the viral garlic bread hack is to use four whole heads of garlic. Yes, you read that right. Instead of little amounts of garlic, four whole garlic heads go into the making of this yummy garlic bread. It not only makes it quicker and easier to make it at home, this also lends an additional flavour of garlic which is just too good to resist. The video on Jake Cohen's Instagram handle has already garnered over 50 million views. Not olnly that, multiple food bloggers and home chefs have tried this viral recipe and shared on their channels. In the video, Jake shows the whole recipe step by step. He starts by wrapping the whole garlic heads in an aluminium foil with olive oil and, bake till golden. He then simply squeezes out the roasted garlic into a bowl and mix with butter, basil, pepper and salt. All you then need to do is mix it well, spread on a bread of your choice and bake it. Jake also shows how crunchy and delicious the resulting garlic bread can come out to be.

Ingredients: 

4 whole garlic heads 

Olive oil 

1 stick softened butter 

1 tablespoon minced basil 

1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper 

Kosher salt to taste 

Method: 

1. Take a piece of aluminum foil and put all the whole of garlic heads in it. Add a spoonful of olive oil, wrap it and put it in the oven at 400 degrees for about an hour until it turns golden. 

2. When done, squeeze out the roasted garlic into a bowl and combine it with butter, basil, pepper, and salt. 

3. Stir this mixture well until smooth and spread it onto the bread of choice. 

4. Bake 15 minutes until golden-brown, then slice and serve hot.
