The wholesome, huge and delicious Thali is one concept you ‘ll find across the different states of the country, with certain uniqueness and a variety of delicacies. While most Thalis serve a combination of lentils, vegetables, rice and breads, the sabzi could vary in each region along with a unique dish of the particular region. And you may have seen a number of Thalis, we’ve got one that you may have never tried. 'Bahubali' Thali from Delhi has recently caught the attention of many netizens for a reason you won’t expect. The giant thali with a plethora of dishes with huge portions, comes with a huge bid too. Finishing this whopping thali may even win you prize money of Rs. 8 lakhs! Yes, you read that right. The video of the Bahubali thali was shared on YouTube by food blogger Rajneesh Gyani, on his handle 'Are You Hungry'. Take a look:
The video has indeed gone viral in just a few days' time, garnering over 2 million views. The Bahubali thali challenge, which is offered by a restaurant called Ardor 2.1 in Connaught Place, New Delhi, was attempted by the food blogger along with a friend. Rajneesh Gyani was asked to finish the entire thali in a matter of just 40 minutes to win the prize money of Rs. 8 lakhs, and over 15-minute long video shows their tryst with the thali.
The video starts with the giant Bahubali thali being assembled. It comprises of a number of North Indian delicacies, starting with Tamatar ka Shorba, Jaljeera and Rose Sherbat, followed by Papdi Chaat, Gobhi Matar, Dal Tadka, Kadhi Pakoda, Aloo Palak, Malai Kofta, Soya Chaap Masala, Kadhaai Paneer, Dal Makhani, Dum Aloo, Saag and Paneer Tikka Masala. While this was just the main course along with Veg Biryani, steamed rice and assorted breads, there were starters as well including hara bhara kebab. Papads, salads, Raita and pickled onions could also be seen in the Thali. For desserts, there was a portion of Gulab Jamun too.
The bloggers managed to complete the food challenge in the given time, thus winning the prize money of Rs. 8 lakhs. They celebrated their win with dhol and dance, but said that they would donate the prize money to a charity.
