Walk past a fast-food chain and you’ll instantly be drawn towards the freshly made goodies. Be it the delicious garlic bread or those crispy French fries, the aroma is simply irresistible. We know how food has a multi-sensory appeal, right from its smell to its aesthetics, there are multiple facets of the food that we enjoy. The smell of crispy, salty French Fries is perhaps one of our favourites. Personally, I cannot resist buying a pack of fries along with the other order only because of the smell. But now you can even buy the smell of your very own French fries, as it has now become a limited-edition perfume for Valentine's Day. Don't believe us? Take a look:

Introduced by the Idaho Potato Commission (IPC), this perfume was introduced as a limited-edition collectible for Valentine's Day. 'Frites by Idaho' is said to be a tantalising fragrance inspired by the tempting aroma of French Fries. The launch of the unique fragrance is also in line with National Potato Lovers' Month.

Shared on the official Instagram handle of IPC, the caption on the post read "Uniquely crafted from a blend of essential oils and distilled Idaho Potatoes, this fragrance will invite memories of fry-tastic days gone by." The 50ml bottle is being sold for a price of just ₹142.

A statement on Idaho Potato Commission 's website reveals that a survey was conducted by Pollfish before the product's launch. It found that nearly 90% of Americans find the smell of French Fries irresistible. And, perhaps, no one can deny that. The fragrance does get us slurping no matter where we are! "Whether you're at a drive through restaurant or dining in, it's nearly impossible to not grab a fry and take a bite before you dive into your meal. The smell is too good to resist," explained Jamey Higham, President and CEO, IPC, adding, "This perfume is a great gift for anyone who can't refuse a French fry."

The announcement sent the social media users into a tizzy and garnered many reactions. "I need this in my life," wrote one user, while another said, "April fool's day is still weeks away!". Another comment read, “Does it come with Fry Sauce lotion?” A few others loved the idea of a food-based perfume that was quickly sold out; they wrote, "Wow - what an awesome concept!!!"

Aren't you craving some hot and crispy French fries now, or is that just us? Anyhow, here are some cool tips that can help you make crispy fries at home.

1. Go for large potatoes as opposed to small ones.

2. Cut thick slices of 1 cm each.

3. Make sure you rinse the sliced potatoes in cold water.

4. After rinsing, it is equally important to dry the potatoes, you can use a kitchen towel or a cloth to do that.

5. Start frying on high flame, and then immediately lower the flame, else your fries would remain raw from within.
